Capybara Ceilings
All Capybara Ceilings have standard dimensions. But since ceilings come in different shapes and sizes, we tailor your chosen design to your ceiling’s proportions. Please specify the measurements of your ceiling in the Capybara Ceiling Form. Additionally you can also specify any custom color for your Capybara Ceiling.
The measurements of your ceiling cannot deviate too much from the proportions of our regular ceiling. For example, we cannot make an oblong design square. That’s why we have put proportions with each design. This way you can see if the chosen design is suitable for your ceiling. Don’t hesitate to sent us an e-mail if you’re not sure your measurements suit your chosen design.
After sending us the Capybara Ceiling Form we will mail you a quotation and a payment link for a sample. When we have received your sample payment, the sample of your custom-made Capybara Ceiling will be sent to you within 7-10 business days. If you agree on the sample and we have received your second payment for the whole ceiling, we proceed by producing your Capybara Ceiling and sent it to you in 5-7 business days.

Although the colors on our website aim to give a good representation of the true product color, colors may differ due to variation of screens. Each phone, tablet or computer has different settings for light intensity. Therefore, if you have any doubts about the color, we advise you to order a sample in advance. Please note that colors may also vary slightly between orders due to our custom print production. So we also recommend that you allways order enough and a little bit more…
Our color reference: Werner’s Nomenclature of Colours (1814)
The Capybara Papers draws inspiration from Werner’s Nomenclature of Colours, a remarkable tome of color references compiled in 1814. This historical work can be seen as a precursor to modern color systems like Pantone or RAL. Photography had not yet been invented so colors had to be captured in the written word. Don’t you find the book’s poetic color names, like Arterial Blood Red, Berlin Blue, and Verdigris Green, incredibly inspiring? The Scottish painter Syme adapted and revised the original guide in the 19th century by incorporating hundreds of painted samples for each color. These samples were derived from Werner’s precise color descriptions on locations around the world. The head of a golden pheasant, for example, is King’s Yellow, while Hepatica flowers are Berlin Blue. As reference to our colors of Werner’s (recognisable by a starting number) you can visit this link.
Of course, not all the colors we use can be found in Werner’s nomenclature. That’s why we also incorporate our own trendsetting colors.
Regular or Large?
At The Capybara Papers, we believe that the right size of a pattern is important. Proportions are a main focus point. That’s why we offer most of our wallpapers in 2 sizes: Regular and Large. What sets us apart is the ability to combine these patterns effortlessly. You can apply Regular to your walls for a timeless backdrop, and introduce Large to make a statement on mantelpieces or accent walls. Or go wild and mix and match. With Regular and Large patterns, your options are limitless. The result? A personalized masterpiece that tells your story.
Material
The Capybara Papers use non-woven paper for their wallpapers. This is not your average non-woven material. It feels soft, like real paper. The strong and unique texture gives every wall a luxurious and inviting look and feel. Colors can be deep and vibrant and the smooth and matte finish feels comforting soft and snuggly.
Our non-woven wallpaper offers environmental benefits over traditional paper wallpaper. It uses fewer natural resources to produce, can be recycled more easily, and can last for many years. Unlike traditional paper, non-woven paper is made by combining long and short fibers using a special process that does not involve weaving. The result is a strong, durable material that is resistant to tearing, stretching, and shrinking.
One of the main advantages is its ease of use. It does not expand when it comes into contact with moisture, making it easy to install and remove. This also means that it does not require any special preparation, before hanging on the wall. Just put glue on the wall and stick the paper on top!
Another benefit is its ability to hide imperfections on the wall. It easily covers up small cracks, bumps, and other flaws on the surface of the wall.
As it has no coating the wallpaper cannot be pasted in damp rooms but can be very gently cleaned with a soft cloth, no abrasive scrubbing or harsh detergents. The wallpaper is light resistant, so it does not fade.
In conclusion, our material is very versatile due to its durability, ease of use, and ability to hide imperfections on the wall. The weight is 160 g/m2 and comes on a roll that is 48,7 cm [19.17″] wide and 1000 cm [393,7″] long.
